Staples Center turns 10 years old today, the anniversary of the
downtown Los Angeles arena's first public event - a concert by Bruce
Springsteen and the E Street Band.
The building that cost $407million to construct has packed more
than 2,250 events into its first decade. Here, in roughly
chronological order, are 10 of its most memorable happenings.
Bruuuuuce: Springsteen and the band opened Staples Center with
four shows during their Reunion Tour. The Boss complained from the
stage about the arena's commercialism, wide luxury levels and poor
sound quality. Steps were taken to improve the sound quality.
