Article: El Monte city manager faces possible dismissal after arrest in Pomona prostitution sting

El Monte City Manager Jim Mussenden could be removed from his post today after being arrested Thursday night on suspicion of soliciting prostitution in Pomona.

Mussenden, 59, was among 30 suspects arrested during a six-hour sting, which began at 6 p.m. near East Holt Boulevard. He was cited, given a court date and released, Pomona police said.

The El Monte City Council will hold an emergency meeting at 12:30 p.m. today at City Hall to determine Mussenden's fate.

"There is no way he could stay on. I don't think Jim would cause himself that embarrassment," said Councilwoman Emily Ishigaki.
