Article: Resident input in Zilber plans draws praise Neighborhood proposals unveiled

Successful and long-lasting community development of Milwaukee neighborhoods can happen only when residents play a meaningful role as they have in drafting the two Zilber Neighborhood Initiative plans, the leaders of two national organizations said Friday.

Ken Wade, CEO of NeighborWorks America, a national nonprofit community organization that's holding its community leadership institute in Milwaukee this weekend, praised the method used here to develop the Zilber plans for the Lindsay Heights and Clarke Square neighborhoods. Residents took the lead in designing the plans.
