Some 14 buses filled with out-of-towners fanned out across the
city Saturday afternoon to tour Milwaukee neighborhoods and see up
close what local revitalization efforts look like.
The tourists are among 900 community and grass-roots leaders from
around the nation who are here to attend a NeighborWorks America
community leadership institute that ends Sunday and has been meeting
at the Midwest Airlines Center.
One group hopped a bus to the Walnut Way neighborhood located at
N. 17th St. near W. North Ave. When they entered the refurbished
Victorian home that houses the Walnut Way Conservation Corp., they
