The board of directors of the Oklahoma State Fair confirmed the appointment of five new board members at its meeting Tuesday.

The new appointments are Sam Combs, president, Oklahoma Natural Gas; Tom J. McDaniel, president, Oklahoma City University; J. Larry Nichols, chairman and CEO, Devon Energy; David J. Schmidly, president, Oklahoma State University; and Robert P. Todd, president, Oklahoma City Community College. The board approved the appointment of James Halligan, former president of OSU; Russell Perry, publisher, the Black Chronicle; and Darrell Chabino, former president, Sight 'n Sound appliance centers, as lifetime honorary board members.
