Erica Hawke has been wearing skates since she was just 2 years old, but it has not always been smooth skating for her.

She used to hate it when her grandmother and mother took her to skate as a child. There were days when she would sit and cry on the ice because she did not want to be there anymore.

Her whole attitude changed when another girl came over to her while she was pouting and told her "only babies cry on ice." Since then Hawke has only become more competitive on the ice.
