Article: WCT's whodunit captures suspense

Agatha Christie's classic murder mystery "And Then There Were None" gets an update in the capable hands of the Waukesha Civic Theatre.

Christie wrote the play in 1944 with a contemporary setting on an island off the coast of England.

WCT keeps the locale but moves the action smack dab into 2009, with references to e-mails and cell phones which make the suspense even more palpable as audience members can easily imagine themselves confronted by the terror of knowing there's a killer in their midst.

Opening night got off to a bit of shaky start with some awkward pauses in dialog, but moved like a freight train in Act II as the action picked up.
