On Thursday, Arrowhead faces the state's defending champions -
might as well start with the best in the WIAA Division 1 state
soccer tournament.
The Warhawks, who qualified for their third-ever tourney after
defeating Brookfield Central on Saturday, not only play last year's
title-holder, but a team making the trip to the tournament for a
10th straight year.
The Milwaukee Marquette Hilltoppers own all the press clippings
in Wisconsin in this decade, having won six of the last nine state
championships. Marquette (17-4-2) rallied to defeat Whitefish Bay on
Saturday, 2-1, earning the right to defend its title at Uihlein
Soccer Park in Milwaukee.
