FURTHER evidence Hull is pulling out of recession has emerged as one of the city's biggest employers announced a multi-million pound expansion plan.

Cranswick Plc is extending its manufacturing facility on Helsinki Road, Sutton Fields Industrial Estate, to meet increasing demand for its gourmet sausages.

The plant currently produces between 300 and 400 tonnes of sausages per year - the equivalent of 4.5 million to six million sausages.

Once fully operational in January, peak output will increase by a further 200 tonnes per year - another three million sausages.

The news comes after the Mail highlighted how the region's caravan industry was beginning to drive economic growth in the region.
