Jessyee Walker Ramsey, 95, of Roanoke, Va., died peacefully on
Sunday, October 25, 2009, Mrs. Ramsey was a devoted member of
Melrose Baptist Church since 1925, where a media center was named in
her honor and where she served for over 40 years as church
librarian. Mrs. Ramsey was preceded in death by her husband of 58
years, Gordon H. Ramsey; by her sister, Eliza Caroline Hodges; and
by her twin sister, Georgia Walker Adams. "JJ," as she was fondly
called by friends and family, is survived by her son, Joe W. Ramsey
and her daughter-inlaw, Janet L. Ramsey, both of Roanoke. She has
two grandchildren, Jason M. Ramsey, of Richmond, and Leigh Walker
