Thomas Sperry Field, died on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at his home in Bedford County, Va. He was born on Thursday, April 21, 1927 in Bedford County, a son of the late Moorman Field and Edna Malvern Sperry Field. He lived his entire life in Bedford where he was known as "The Pony Man." His entire life involved raising and breeding horses, Miniature horses, Angus Cattle, and brush and miniature goats. He was also a long-haul truck driver for Rubatex for 24 years. He was a lifelong member of Bedford Presbyterian Church and was also a veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War II.
