Czech Constitutional Court postpones verdict on Lisbon treaty

PRAGUE, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Czech Constitutional Court Thursday postponed the verdict on the Lisbon treaty to November 3, Pavel Rychetsky, chairman of the court and the judge-rapporteur in this case, said in Prague.

The case follows a complaint lodged by a group of senators saying that the Lisbon treaty is at variance with the Czech constitutional order.

When leaving the proceedings, representatives of the Presidential Office, parliament and the government said they expected the verdict next Tuesday.

Miloslav Vlcek, chairman of the Chamber of Deputies, said the senators were only making obstructions with their proposal. ...
