Article: Butler Twp. trustee candidates divided over building a new government center

The five candidates for two Butler Twp. trustee seats are divided on whether the township should build a new government center.

Joseph Ellis, incumbent

Ellis, 56, of 2201 Kershner Road, has lived in the township since 1991 and is completing his eighth year as a trustee. He is president and owner of Uno's Chicago Grill in Dayton and owner of MWPD Inc., a real estate development company.

Ellis said he's seeking reelection because "I think I've done a good job as trustee through the years." He said he is proud of the economic development they've created since 2002, including the business district along Interstate 75 known as York Commons.
