Starting with an altar installation Thursday and culminating with a festival on Sunday, Day of the Dead will be celebrated at Oklahoma City University.

The actual two-day holiday starts Sunday at the Meinders School of Business, NW 27th Street and McKinley Avenue. The events, scheduled from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., are open and free to the public.

At 4 p.m., two short documentaries - Celebrating the Day of the Dead and The Day of the Dead in Janitzio - will be screened. Traditional Mexican music and dancing will follow until 7 p.m. Guests will be able to sample some of the foods that are central to Day of the Dead, including mole chicken, tamales, hot chocolate and decorated breads.
