Because the pain of tooth decay hangs around a lot longer than the faux spider webs stretched over your lawn, an Oconomowoc dentist is offering an alternative.

Dr. James Michaels of Oconomowoc Dental Care will give you cold, hard cash in exchange for your Tootsie Rolls and lollipops this year. On Nov. 2, in exchange for your unopened Halloween candy, Michaels will give $1 per pound and toothbrushes.

"It's a fun way to get some of the candy out of the house," said Ann Fischler, a registered dental hygienist at Michaels' office.
