Article: 45 years in the beauty business

AVON has been calling along one road for an amazing 45 years thanks to dedicated sales rep Grace Evans.

The delivered-direct-to-your-door beauty products were first touted along Springfield Road in Cashes Green by Mrs Evans in 1964.

At the time she was a young wife looking to earn some pin money to help bring up her young son.

Mrs Evans said: "After seven years we managed to get enough money to go to Canada to see my brother. It was lovely. I enjoyed every minute."

Now a widowed great-grandmother, the 84-year-old still supplies seven customers with talc and perfumes.

As Avon marks its 50th year in the UK it has honoured Mrs Evans.
