Article: What a Trip: Hawaii has something for all the senses

BONNIE LANGAN LOFSTEDT left for Hawaii after taking her last final at UC Berkeley. The Orinda resident traded her Miramonte and Cal-Berkeley school days to work as a camp counselor in Kauai. It was during that time that Lofstedt met her future husband, Curt.

The husband-and-wife team own Island Helicopters and have been providing helicopter tours for over 28 years. They recently earned the distinction of being the only helicopter company able to land at Manawaiopuna Falls. The 400-foot waterfall was used in the filming of Stephen Spielberg's "Jurassic Park" and is only accessible by helicopter.

While the Lofstedts were visiting family in Lamorinda, I was soaring over Kauai's Waimea Canyon ...
