Uganda's trade slides back to deficit after short surplus period KAMPALA, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Uganda's balance of payment in August 2009 continued to slide into deficit compared to June 2009 when the East African country registered a trade surplus, the country's central bank said in a monthly report issued here on Wednesday.

Bank of Uganda (BOU) in its Economic and Financial Indicators report for September 2009 said that the country in August 2009 registered a deficit of 36.4 million U.S. dollars compared to the 11.1 million dollar surplus it registered in June 2009.
