Article: West Holmes goes for win, loses gamble

WOOSTER -- West Holmes' seniors encouraged their coach Friday night that they had nothing to lose.

Except, as it turned out, their seventh game in a row.

West Holmes put together a furious second-half rally, but what would have been a game-winning two-point conversion in the final minute was turned away by Wooster, as the Generals held on for a 21- 20 Ohio Cardinal Conference victory.

"My seniors were standing in front of me saying, 'Coach, we want to go for the win,'" West Holmes bench boss Tom Eastep said. "The guys said, 'We're 2-6, what do we have to lose?'
