Madison -- Ryan Kerrigan, Purdue's best defensive linemen and the
Big Ten Conference's sack leader, has studied the battle between
Iowa's defensive front and the University of Wisconsin offensive
line.
He loved what he saw.
"I noticed their defensive line really played physical against
Wisconsin's offensive line," said Kerrigan, a junior defensive end
who has 7 1/2 sacks in eight games. "And that's one of Wisconsin's
staples. They try to be a really physical team that's going to beat
you up and wear you out throughout the course of the game.
"I noticed Iowa's defensive linemen really tried to take the
physicality to them and that seemed to pay off for them in the end.
