Article: Pounds 2.5m will re-start stalled homes bid

THE Government has earmarked Pounds 2.5 million to re-start a stalled housing project in Tewkesbury.

It is part of an overall amount of nearly Pounds 10 million allocated to get house builders moving again in Gloucestershire.

Housing minister John Healey said the cash will go to help build 222 homes in the county. The Pounds 2.5 million has been earmarked for 102 properties in the town to be built by Bovis Homes Ltd.

Barratt Developments Plc will get nearly Pounds 7.5 million in pump-priming cash for a 120-home development at The Oaks in the Forest of Dean.

Bovis Homes said it was delighted to get the money, via the Home and Communities Agency.
