It is time to have a serious discussion about the state of
monsters today.
Everyone's awash in putrefied zombie flesh -- in the movie
"Zombieland," in the books "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" and
"It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Zombies: A Book of Zombie
Christmas Carols."
Everyone's riding the (ebbing?) vampire wave, complete with
undead dating guides: "The Vampire Seduction Handbook," "Vampires
Don't Sleep Alone," "The Vampire Is Just Not That Into You."
Next up are werewolves, thanks to the one-woman creature
coalition that is Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" series.
But the mass adulation of these abominations comes at the expense
of others.
