On Tuesday, when the doors of the Las Vegas Convention Center
open, the auto industry will get its first in-person look at a car
designed by a college student in California, built in Massachusetts,
and closely followed online by a cluster of car enthusiasts.
It's the public debut of an idea hatched three years ago at
Harvard Business School: what if you could reinvigorate the car
business by letting the Internet community shape the product, and
inviting buyers to get involved by visiting the factory to help
assemble the car they've purchased?
