AVON
VOLUNTEERS TO AID CHILDREN NEEDED - School and town officials are
interested in hearing from residents willing to serve on Avon's
Coalition for Every Student. ACES, which was formed last year to
address the problems uncovered in a youth risk survey given to
students in 2007, meets monthly to brainstorm ways to promote a
healthy environment for Avon children. ACES received a national Drug
Free Communities grant that will provide the group with $125,000 per
year for five years, said Superintendent Margaret Frieswyk. For more
