I asked when he stopped being a victim. "When I suddenly got real
with me," he answers. "I mean, my son [Jack] got sober before I did.
He wasn't one of these kids that went, 'I'm sober. Why aren't you?'
I knew. I knew after the first rehab what the problem was. They told
me at the first rehab, 'You will probably drink again. But every
time you drink, you will see my face and you will be so spoiled that
it will never be the same again'. And it was true. Because once you
know what you are doing it for -- that you are an alcoholic ..."
