CARRUTHERS Six-year-old gelding (Mark Bradstock) Made his
seasonal bow at Wincanton on Saturday and was a good fifth in a race
that was used as a stepping stone for the Hennessy Gold Cup at
Newbury on 28 November. This front-running staying chaser was fourth
in the Grade 1 RSA Chase last March and he should pay his way in the
major handicaps this winter.
COOLDINE Seven-year-old gelding (Willie Mullins) Last season's
RSA Chase winner is being aimed at the Cheltenham Gold Cup and is
expected to make his next start in the John Durkan Memorial Chase at
Punchestown on 6 December. He may also take in the King George at
Kempton on Boxing Day, though going right-handed is a question mark.
