Article: Andrew Bayle, 90; engineer helped develop guidance systems

Andrew C. Bayle of Boston was an electrical engineer who worked
on projects from wind conversion systems to missiles in World War
II. He rarely spoke of his work to his family.
"He was a very practical person and very focused on doing the
right thing to keep his family healthy and well," said Mr. Bayle's
daughter, Elisabeth of Medford.
On Oct. 9, Mr. Bayle died of heart failure at the Stone Institute
in Newton. He was 90.
Mr. Bayle grew up as an only child in New York City. He graduated
in 1939 from City College, with a bachelor's degree in electrical
engineering. He earned his master's degree in electrical engineering
from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1940.
