Article: Let voters decide on wind turbines

RE "STATE presses wind projects: Bill aims to ease gridlock around appeals process" (Page A1, Nov. 3): If the Legislature is unable to expedite the process, let the voters decide. Tell us how much our utility bills will drop under wind power, and let us decide how much we are willing to tolerate local obstacles to this form of energy. If a community's voters were given the chance to pay so much less, mightn't they overrule the not-in-my-backyard set in their own backyards? If those living closest to the turbines paid the least for utilities, mightn't they approve the projects?

As for people's fears that the turbines would blight a natural landscape, these are not your father's unsightly ...
