MONTGOMERY - WVU Tech played the second game of its four-game
West Virginia Conference "reunion tour" Monday a whole lot better
than it did the first, and Salem International took the brunt of it,
losing 77-51 at the Baisi Center.
The Golden Bears shot 45 percent, held the Tigers to 30 percent
shooting, had seven players score at least eight points and
dominated the boards until the final stages. To Tech coach Bob
Williams, it was a reversal of a 73-67 loss last week to Davis &
Elkins.
"This was a much better effort," Williams said. "Our defense was
much improved; our energy improved; we're playing harder. I thought
we played hard the whole game, and we made some shots. Salem was
