Article: Trash to take center stage at fashion show: ; Creativity encouraged at recycling-themed event

A combination of imagination and miscellaneous stuff can win prizes in the upcoming West Virginia Recycles Re-Fashion Show at Charleston Town Center.

"This is the eighth year for the show and every year I'm amazed at what people come up with," said Carol Throckmorton, chief of recycling, marketing and development for the West Virginia Solid Waste Management Board.

People create outfits from just about anything and she has the pictures to prove it from past shows.

This year's event is set for 1 p.m. Nov. 14 at Macy's Court. Registration begins at noon. Parental consent is required for those under 18. It is free to enter the contest, which is organized by Recycling Coalition of West Virginia ...
