When Native Americans from around the region gather this weekend
in Bridgewater, all of the dances will be done in circles, said
Anthony Silva of Stoughton.
"Everything is connected, everything is related," said Silva, a
board member of the Massachusetts Center for Native American
Awareness and a member of a drum group that has traveled to
national events. "The circle is entered from the east, like the sun.
And things move to the left."
For 20 years, Silva's group, the major state organization for
preserving the traditions of Native Americans, has been holding
regional pow-wows that feature dancing, drumming, and native crafts.
