Article: Around West County: Boy Scout builds kiosks at Patuxent Refuge, earns Eagle Scout honors

Joshua Lawrence Vincent, 15, son of Chris and Amy Vincent, recently received the highest award the Boy Scouts of America offers to Scouts, the Eagle Scout Award, at a ceremony held earlier this year at Nichols-Bethel United Methodist Church in Odenton.

Joshua had to earn 21 merit badges and successfully plan, lead and complete a community service project to earn his award.

For his Eagle project, Joshua constructed two wooden information kiosks at the Patuxent Wildlife Research Refuge in Laurel. The project took more than 250 man hours, and the cost of the materials for the kiosks was raised from donations, yard sales and the sale of coupon cards.
