Article: Copley, Johnson say good-bye to Rittman Council

RITTMAN -- Though January is traditionally the time for "out with the old, in with the new," there was that sense as Monday's council meeting drew to a close.

Because of the city charter, those who are elected to council take office on the first Monday in December. Though council had a second meeting scheduled for November, members opted to cancel it, making Monday's gathering the final one for Charles Copley and James Johnson, brothers who served a single, four-year term together.

Unlike Copley, James Johnson opted not to seek re-election. Copley finished fourth in a race for three open seats.
