Want to go on a little journey?
Let's pretend it's 1949 and you're standing on the square in
downtown Wooster -- suitcase in hand -- ready to catch a train that
will soon depart from the depot at the foot of Spink Street. The
Pennsylvania Railroad Station is four blocks away at the far end of
East Liberty Street and you've decide to walk the distance on foot
... starting at Beulah Bechtel's -- and remaining on the north side
of the street.
Now, close your eyes and picture this: After passing Bechtel's,
you'll walk past Brenner Brothers, Woolworth's, Liberty News, First
Federal Savings and Loan, Moore's Bakery, Singer Sewing Machine Co.,
Gray's Drug Store, J.J. Newberry Co., Isaly's Dairy, ...
