Students present poems, speeches
DAYTON -- The following are recent announcements from Dayton
Public Schools:
- Dayton Public Schools held its 52nd annual Lucia May Wiant
Speech Contest on Nov. 5 at Stivers School for the Arts. Students in
grades two through eight presented a short poem or speech of their
choosing during the annual competition.
- Westwood PK-8 School hosted a Clean Up Day on Nov. 7. Students
and staff were joined by students from Wright State University and
the University of Dayton as well as community members, to beautify
the school grounds and to help rake leaves in neighboring yards.
