IT'S been a long 20 years since Ireland last qualified for
hockey's World Cup finals but coach Paul Revington and his chosen 18
players are hoping to put that right over the next ten days in
Argentina.
Make no mistake about it, if the team is to claim the 12th and
last place for the 2010 finals earmarked for India, then they'll
have to punch above their weight.
They go into tomorrow's Qualifier ranked third of the six
competing nations and knowing there is virtually no room for error
if they are to finish in the top two of the round-robin series and
then win the decider.
