Article: Auction on Saturday to fund PICA justice work

The 23rd annual Peace through Interamerican Community Action, PICA, benefit auction will be held 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Union Street Brick Church in Bangor.

Jon Falk reports both a silent and live auction will be conducted to help raise funds for this grass-roots organization that offers support "for social and economic justice in Maine and El Salvador."

Some auction items can be viewed at www.pica.ws.

Auction items range from weekend getaways to jewelry and pottery.

Friends and co-workers of Lucille Irvin of Ripley will hold a benefit supper "to help in her fight with lung cancer," reports Laura Auger of Abbot.
