Safety course
Tri-State Academy is offering a Womens' Safety Awareness course
at the end of the month.
Zach Adkins, a representative of the group, said the purpose of
the class was to teach women to be more aware of their surroundings.
Adkins said the class will involve an instructor presentation and
several videos of attacks and shootings, to illustrate to the class
just how fast a situation can develop.
The two-hour course will also go over the different types of
protective devices women can carry. It is not a self-defense course.
The class will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 23 at Tri-State Academy's
classrooms in Putnam County and Huntington. Refreshments will be
served.
