A delay in engine availability from a maintenance support vendor, along with an evaluation of the route between MidAmerica and Chicago Midway, have prompted Great Plains Airlines to change some flight schedules in and out of MidAmerica St. Louis Airport beginning in early January.

Demand for maintenance support engines by worldwide users of the Fairchild Dornier jet aircraft has caused an unexpected back-log with the engine manufacturer, noted Great Plains Chairman David Johnson. We are in constant communication with the manufacturer and the parties involved on this issue and hope to move it as quickly as possible.
