Lots of goings on at and about the Price Tower Arts Center in
Bartlesville.
On June 17, Sotheby's Gallery will have a sale, Important 20th
Century Design, featuring furniture and architectural ornaments by
Frank Lloyd Wright from his famed Price Tower, the tallest built
project he ever designed. The offering will include a copper panel
from the exterior fascia and a table and stools from the dining area,
among other items.
This is the first time a number of Wright's site-specific designs
have appeared at auction. The works will be on exhibit at Sotheby's
in New York City from June 12-16.
The 19-story Tower was commissioned by Harold C. Price in 1953,
six years before Wright's death and ...
