Gov. Brad Henry asked the Legislature to pass the rest of the
Texas plus lawsuit reform package he proposed one year ago during his
State of the State address on Monday.
Republican legislators jumped to their feet to applaud the
Democratic governor's proposals regarding tax relief and reforming
the workers' compensation system, in particular, but Henry managed to
garner bipartisan approval for his entire legislative agenda for
2005.
So much that we have accomplished to date - in education, and job
growth, health care and public safety - is meaningless if we close
