Article: Oklahoma County provides $30,000 for Del City Wal-Mart road work

Oklahoma County will provide $30,000 in road improvements in
preparation for a new Wal-Mart Supercenter in Del City, Commissioner
Brent Rinehart said.
The store, which was announced in mid-2004, will be built near
Interstate 40 and Sooner Road. Del City Mayor Brian Linley said the
funds will help pay for property entries off Tinker Diagonal and
Sooner Road, and turning lanes on SE 15th Street.
Everything else is in pretty good condition, Linley said. The city
has completed all the infrastructure requirements on the site itself.
The project is moving right along.
Company officials earlier said the Supercenter would result in the
closing of a standard Wal-Mart store in neighboring Midwest ...
