Article: Quality Jobs Act may change: Advisory Task Force on Oklahoma Corporate Income Tax Reform approved

Among the mountain of measures approved during the waning hours of the 2006 legislative session were several business-related bills.

House Bill 2628, by state Rep. R.C. Pruett, D-Antlers, and state Sen. Jeff Rabon, D-Hugo, changes the Small Employer Quality Jobs Act to give 13 low-wage, high-unemployment counties an advantage.

Under the Small Employer Quality Jobs law, qualifying companies can receive quarterly incentive payments for seven years, based on a statutory formula.

Affected by the change are Caddo, Choctaw, Coal, Greer, Hughes, Jefferson, Kay, Latimer, McCurtain, Muskogee, Okfuskee, Okmulgee and Seminole counties.
