Article: U.S. Supreme Court rejects OK Supreme Court Justice Marion Opala's suit

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday put an end to Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice Marion Opala's age discrimination lawsuit against his fellow court justices, a case that has garnered national attention.

"I was very disappointed but not shocked," said Opala on Monday. "I knew my chances were microscopic."

The U.S. Supreme Court was not required to explain its reason for refusing to take on the case. On average, the court receives about 4,500 petitions each year but only chooses about 90 of them for consideration, said Opala. But he had hoped the U.S. Supreme Court would provide some answers to the legal questions raised by his case, Opala said.
