Article: Don't Shoot! HBO Holds Up 'Sopranos' Production

HBO has informed the people involved in the production of "The Sopranos" that they will not be going back to work on March 24.

That was the day production was to begin on the mob drama's fifth season.

In a letter sent out yesterday, the network informs crew and cast that production had been postponed indefinitely, an HBO insider said.

"We were all set to go, unless something unforeseen happened. I guess they call it legally force majeure -- act of God."

In this case, God would be actor James Gandolfini.

Gandolfini, who plays New Jersey mobster Tony Soprano, filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court last week claiming that in the summer of 2001, HBO missed a deadline ...
