EVER heard of the Costa del Sol? Yes, thought so. If Spain is the
most popular tourist destination for Brits (it is), and the Costa del
Sol one of their favourite spots (likewise), it's no wonder the strip
of sand and sunshine holds such a place in our hearts - and has
become one of the most overcrowded places on the planet.
All of which makes our ignorance of a gem of an alternative
getaway destination, just 45 minutes inland from the Costa we know so
well, rather extraordinary.
The Andalucia Lake District of Malaga has had no William
Wordsworth eulogising its beauty. Nor have there been many mentions
in the guidebooks.
