A warm summer evening on the Costa del Sol in Spain and 24,000
people have gathered to watch Elton John in concert. The Hipodromo
racecourse in Mijas is being used as a live venue for the first time
this year and tonight it is packed with an audience of all ages.
Scantily clad young women dance past balding men and there are
enough OAPs leaning on walking sticks to make the queue to the
lavatories interminably slow.
After just ten minutes, Elton stops hammering at his piano and
decides to have a rant.
'Unless you guys f*** off I'm not carrying on,' he growls at a
small crowd of photographers gathered reasonably enough at the
front of the stage.
