The husband of Laci Peterson, the pregnant Modesto woman who
disappeared from her home Christmas Eve, was arrested this afternoon
in a San Diego suburb in connection with the deaths of his wife and
their unborn son.
Scott Peterson, 30, was stopped by FBI agents and San Diego area
law enforcement officers as he drove through La Jolla at 11 a.m.
Stanislaus County District Attorney Jim Brazelton said Peterson is
expected to be arraigned Monday or Tuesday on charges of capital
murder with the special circumstance of double homicide. The special
circumstance allegation makes Peterson eligible for the death
penalty.
