Angry Black Forest homeowners offered a $5,000 reward Monday
afternoon for any information leading to an arrest and conviction for
the suspected arson attacks that have plagued the area for the past
three weekends.
Black Forest Fire Rescue has extinguished 13 brush fires since
June 9, all of which appear to be deliberately set. Rick McMorran, El
Paso County Sheriff's Office fire investigator, said there are no
suspects in the alleged arsons.
The most threatening of the blazes burned a patch of brush about
30 feet in diameter early Sunday in a small residential area of Black
Forest near the intersection of Highline and Elementary roads.
