Satellite dish services zap signals from around the globe to our living rooms.

But southern Colorado TV viewers haven't been able to use those dishes to pick up their local stations.

That may change soon.

The Englewood-based company EchoStar, which provides the Dish Network, plans to launch a satellite this month that could bring KOAA, KTSC, KKTV, KRDO, KXRM, KXTU and Telemundo to viewers in Colorado Springs, Pueblo and the surrounding areas by September.

Thousands of dish owners who couldn't pick up local channels with antennas have sought special waivers from local stations that would allow them to subscribe to out-of-town network affiliates on the dish.
